Live Album – Laura Cannell Recorded live in Concert at Cafe Oto, London

On the 25th April 2025, Laura Cannell performed a solo set to a sold out audience at Cafe Oto in London. A legendary venue that provides a home for new music that exists outside the mainstream. Laura Cannell LIVE AT CAFE OTO captures the raw essence of Laura Cannell, she is digging deep into her intense sounds on overbowed violin, double recorders and bass recorder. Creating expansive sounds as a solo performer, drawing the audience into moments of rasping, chordal landscape drenched music of her own making.

Ever since Laura’s first performance there with her experimental fiddle duo with André Bosman in 2013 supporting Bill Orcutt, it has been a welcoming space for her new projects, collaborations and performances over the years. She has shared the bill, the stage and collaborated at Cafe Oto with many wonderful musicians and performers including her Modern Ritual Project, Eric Chenaux, Oscilanz (Charles Hayward, Ralph Cumbers/Bass Clef & Cannell), Oliver Coates, Sarah Angliss, André Bosman, Stick in the Wheel, Angharad Davies, Lori Goldston, Lucy Gooch, Luke Turner, Jennifer Lucy Alan and many others.

The eight tracks on ‘Laura Cannell Live at Cafe Oto’ are from various releases spanning Laura’s back catalogue from 2014 to 2025. ‘Dagian Duske’ from her first solo album Quick Sparrows over the Black Earth (2014) to Antiphony of the Trees to The Rituals of Hildegard Reimagined (2024) to  A Compendium of Beasts Series (2025).
