Every 7 years the Lindisfarne Gospels, the most spectacular manuscript to survive from Anglo-Saxon England, makes a journey from the British Library in London to a venue in the North East of England. In 2022 that venue was the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne.

As part of the Laing’s exhibition of this treasured manuscript, NOVAK was invited to produce a ‘digital installation’ that explored the origins and influences that inspired the creation of the gospels and the journey that the book took from its birthplace on the holy island of Lindisfarne.
NOVAK created an immersive audio visual installation, featuring floor to ceiling projection, improvisational music and sound design, set alongside newly scripted narration.
