Brawl Records is a UK based independent record label founded in 2005. It was created initially to release the music of Laura Cannell’s experimental folk and early music band Horses Brawl which toured and released four albums from 2003 – 2012.
The Brawl label’s ethos is to release music which draws on experimental, early, improvisational and traditional musics.
Previous releases have been glowingly reviewed in places such as: The Quietus, The Wire, MOJO, The Financial Times Weekend, The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, fROOTs, Songlines, Early Music Today, Muso, Folk Radio UK and many many more.
Our releases have also been broadcast on National and international Radio including: BBC Radio 3, 4 and BBC 6Music, BBC World Service, Polish National Radio, Swedish National Radio, NPR in the USA and throughout the rest of the world.
